Teens in KarateTeens are finding what they need in our Teen Karate Classes. We purposely created a special place for our teens. They do not belong in the Children's Classes. We actually have to teach our teens a whole different skill set than the children. Our teens are preparing to enter an adult world and to deal with adult problems. Many of them already deal with problems, in their school and peer environment, that are so much bigger than what their parents dealt with at their age. In our Teen program, we talk to them like adults, but treat them as growing adolescents. Our Teen instructors challenge these young adults in every class. It is amazing to watch how they respond to the teaching of our highest ranking instructors. The instructors, Mr. Peter Moss, 7th Degree, and Mr. Pepper Buckmaster, 6th Degree, have the ability to get the students to work physically hard in class, while allowing them to be socially teenagers. One would think the amount of discipline in the class would chase them away, but it has the opposite affect. The teens in our class seem to thrive on the physical challenges put in front of them in every class. We produce young adults who are confident and strong enough to be leaders and to be in command of their own decisions. How to get your teen started - We have an introductory program for $29.50 that consists of 3 classes and a new uniform that allows your child to try out karate, and gives us the opportunity to evaluate him/her, at the same time. Similarly, if children already have a uniform, they can take the classes for free just to try us out. We often tell people that if they think they will continue, the $29.50 is a great price for a new uniform. Orientation - Basically, your first appointment would be one-on-one with an instructor and your teen. We take the first appointment as an opportunity to show you and your teen around the school and to introduce your teen to what will happen in their first class. It will about 20 minutes, and should help your teen feel more comfortable about starting karate. Then we would guide him/her right into the group class that would be one hour long. So, the first time you are here, you would spend about 1.5 hours with us. After that, you could choose which days of the week are better for you to set up his/her remaining 2 classes in the introductory program. We like to set the orientations for 7:00 pm on any Monday through Thursday or 11:30 am if you choose Saturday. If you are interested, we'd be happy to talk to you if you'd like to call or, just send the following information, by email (
